FRANCIS LIVINGSTON

Francis Livingston was born in Cordez, Colorado.  He studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Art in Denver before moving to San Francisco in 1975 to attend the Academy of Art, where he later taught for twenty five years in both painting and illustration.  Livingston counts his greatest influences as Sergeant and Whistler.  As an illustrator, Livingston has been awarded both Gold and Silver Medals from the New York Society of Illustrators, San Francisco Society of Illustrators, and Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.  His style is notable for thick layers of paint, noticeable brushstrokes, and use of light.  Livingston’s work has been exhibited nationally and appears in many notable corporate and private collections including those of M. Night Shaymalan, Nike, Mercedes Benz, and Bank of America.
