NOVEMBER 4th – DECEMBER 1st, 2017
Pop Tarts is a collective exploration into the masks worn in the face adversity and negativity. Using different mediums, Colin Christian, Sas Christian, and Vlada Haggerty have individually portrayed their own idea of the “dangerous woman.” Throughout history, masks and makeup have been used as a show of individuality and strength. Whether it be a night out in the city, or preparation for battle, masks allow one to protect, and project, their dominance. This modern day camouflage is explored in the works of all three artists, using common motifs such as glitter, color and form. In addition to new works by Sas Christian and Vlada Haggerty, the exhibition will include a series of exclusive, limited edition sculptures by Colin Christian, inspired by Haggerty’s lip art.
